"This song happened accident, sort of. During a sound check in Vaasa, Finland, Aki, Pauli, and Eerowhere jamming this crazy, jumpy riff an stage. I was still eating my dinner and started humming the melody that later became an anthem for many lost sounds in 2003. We did three different videos for it. I like the one with the flying crows best. That was also when my feathers turned to balck."

No Fear

" I had the line `destilation darkness`on my mind several years before it ended up in this song. This single opened the Hide From The Sun album and we were dealing with great pressure after the big hit album Dead Latters. I guess this was refkecting the feeling of not knowing what the future would bring. The video was made in an old power plant in Berlin."

Guilty (US MIX)

" Guilty is one of the best songs to let the audience do the singing on. This lyricis an apology to all my friends who I`ve treated badly after becoming a busy ans self centered rock star. We spent more than 250days on tour after Dead Latters came out. I had no other life than The Rasmus after that. We shot the vodeo in Los Angeles."

October & April

" This song we wrote in -95. We had different lyrics making fun of all existing boy bands back then. This song was just a harmless joke to begin with. I found an old demo tape and thought the melody was pretty good. We decided to record it properly with orchestral strings on it. I called and asked Anette Olzon of Nightwish to sing it with me and she said yes right there! We also fimed a video togetherin Helsinki, but all we did was singing and walking on a green treadmill, and everything else was computer generaded 3D graphics.

First Day Of My Life

" This song is about being in a band and touring. Also, the contrast between the beautiful melodies and the aggressive guitar riff is reflecting the ever changing moods on the road. The video was shot at a racing track in Germany. The director kept wanting to add all these cheerleader girls to it, I am glad they stayed out of it."

Livin`In A World Without You

" This was the last song we wrote and recorded for Black Roses. The track has a specioal sound and we re-mixed many other songs afterwards to match it, because it sounded so cool and different. The lyric was inspired by the horrible news of an incest case in Austria 2008. "

F-F-F-Falling

" Falling was the first song to be played on the radio outside of finland. Before this we had been touring inly finland constantly for eight years hoping to become international stars one day. The srrong 80`s vibe in this tune influenced many of our songs later on. We played the track to our friends andy they said `guys you can`t play this kind of music!` and the we knew we had a hit. The video was done in Helsinki, and the side story with the two girls was inspired by the Swedish movie Fucking Amal.

Chill

" Back in 2001, I used to paint the walls in my apartment almost very month, hoping for a change in my life. It was a good way to hide the problem and sorrows for a week or two. The feeling of a summer night in Helsinki is nicely captured here. The video was filmed by outselves on the road in Finland and Sweden."

Immortal

" Immortal is one of the best songs in our live set. On stage we play an extended version of it. It`s also my favorite The Rasmus song ever. Eero made a video from tour footage."
